Post-Game HMD

HMD

It's time for an HMD! As it is the end of the game, we welcome everyone to come and give feedback to the mods as to how we did/are doing/what we could do better next time. Because...well, let's be honest, we definitely plan on doing a next round, but we also know we could tweak a few things to make the next round even better! We'd love to hear from you, so we can know what to do better next round, and in the future. We also welcome players to post here, if they would like some feedback from their fellow players!

Lastly: thank you! We want to thank everyone for making this first round an amazing experience, and we hope to see you guys in the future, for round 2!

Endgame Announcement and Activity Check

Yup! It's time for endgame! There will be a Final Week put up today, while the Final Investigation will be put up on Thursday! Like with normal Investigations, it will close on Friday at midnight EST, or earlier if all the clues have been found beforehand, with the Final Trial going up, at the latest, this Saturday at 2PM EST.

To make things a little bit easier, we will be splitting characters into two groups:

TEAM A
Fie
Futaba
Killua
Papyrus

TEAM B
Eric
Jr.
Maglor

Team A will be investigating Areas 1, 2, 3 and 4, while Team B will be investigating Areas 5, 6, 7 and 8. Camilla, Linkara, and Santa will be helping both teams.

However, in order for players to get the best possible ending, all living characters must participate in BOTH the Investigation and Trial. All players with characters still living must also respond to this post so we know they have read this post!

We are also adding Activity Check here, which, for all players, is a check-in!

Thank you and we'll see you in the Final Week post!

An Important Locations Update!

Good afternoon, everyone!

It has come to our attention that our Locations page was slightly inaccurate, and that was basically our mistake to find and fix.

While Floor 2 has been confirmed to have an alchemy laboratory as being in a part of the Conservatex, the person who had put up the maps (and subsequently the rest of us mods) didn't realize that they had actually put up the wrong version of the map. The right version actually marked there was an actual laboratory in said south corner of the Conservatex, and we only just realized it! As a result, the Locations page has been properly updated and the correct map has been put up, and we apologize for the unfortunate mistake made.

And that's it. Back to the game, and as always, if you guys see anything or have comments and questions, never hesitate to bring it up to the mods!

IMPORTANT NOTE ABOUT THE WEEK 3 MOTIVE

Greetings, Titled!

Firstly, before anything else, we would like to stress that this week's motive is about a particular disease from a specific canon which can, in time, cause suicidal thoughts in those infected by it. As such, if you decide to play your character having or doing anything with developing suicidal ideation, we ask that you please put trigger warnings on all comment headings related to any situation which develops into such - not just top levels, but every comment in a thread where it might happen. Suicide and suicidal ideations are not to be done lightly, and there are individuals both in this game and out who may be legitimately harmed by reading unchecked comments. Thus, in regards to threads in Week 3, if you fail to properly label comments and we find out, we will delete them. We also ask that players respond to this post to acknowledge that they have read this.

The disease itself, outside of suicidal ideations, has one other primary symptom: it changes a character's perceptions of time, slowing down the brain's ability to process everything around them while simultaneously tricking the brain into thinking it is taking in more information than normal. Time itself seems to speed up, making one second seem almost three times as long (as it is in fact over two seconds in real time), while the brain is simultaneously trying to take in the same amount of information it would have when uninfected. For characters infected this alteration of perception will result in feeling overwhelmed by the information their mind is taking in because everything is apparently happening slower than normal, a sensation which will strengthen as days goes by.

On a much lesser note, there are also several people who, due to the nature of their Titles or through mod roll, are not infected. They are:

Futaba Sakura
Harley Quinn
Killua Zoldyck
Maglor
Papyrus

The effects of the sickness will disappear on Friday, and characters will be cured in time for the start of the Inquisition.

If you have any questions, please contact the mods through plurk, Discord, or Dreamwidth messages.

A quick post to bring everyone's attention to the IC rule change that has happened! All characters now have several copies of this new letter which reflects this change. Sadly, we now know the powers that be are against having more than a certain amount of dead people per week.

And that's it, for now! We hope you're enjoying the game so far, as we near the end of Week 1!

Quick Application/FAQ Clarifications and Regarding Reserve Drops

Just a very quick but important update!

-In regards to applications, its two things! The first is regarding samples. Samples can be from anywhere as long as they fit the requirements stated on the applications page. Previously, the applications page had not stated this outright and potential players had pointed out that it looked like players could only used the TDM for their samples, or from previous murdergames (which would be difficult of those players aren't CRAUS) that they had to be from scratch. This has since been clarified!

-In regards to memories, characters are not required to lose only memories from between their assumed canon point and true canon point. They can lose any memory that is significant to them. This has been updated on the FAQ.

-Another new FAQ clarification regarding characters from a canon with an English release that is one month old or less - These will be looked at on a case-by-case basis, and if they are accepted, players will be asked to put up a post in their journal for other players to opt out of spoilers, and to tag any comment with spoilers in them with spoilers warnings.

-Lastly, and most importantly, we have noticed that several people have dropped from the reserves without giving the moderators any notification or heads-up about it. While it is absolutely the player's prerogative to do so, and while we have not asked for it in the past, starting today, we are going to start asking for players who have reserved but ultimately cannot play starting next week, to please inform us before dropping.

As we are now once more only 2/3 of the way towards the player cap as of this writing, which is about the minimum number of players that we would be able to run a game with, dropping a reserve can - and will - continue to change the dynamics and even the fate of the round and its participants significantly, if not outright prevent us from running the game, and we need to be able to accommodate those potential eventualities in a timely manner. At the moment, we still have enough reserves that the game will still run on May 15th, but if we drop below 10, the game will become much harder for the moderators to run, and it is unlikely we would be able to run a decent round. That, we believe, is inherently unfair to players who are still able to play and have put in applications. Thus, we need the heads-up so that, if we need to delay the game's start date (since, aside from the anticipated Airlocked R2, Foolish Mortals also announced their mock week after we announced our start date!) we can prepare to do that.

With that said, we're more than mid-way through with the week. We still have five slots open, and we encourage potential players to come in and reserve before May 14th! Good luck, and no matter what happens we'll see you this Monday, May 15th!

Another quick FAQ clarification!

Not anything major, but the FAQ has been updated to reflect the following:

-It turned out that we didn't actually say that that humanization is not enforced on non-humans, so characters who aren't human will still look as they did before they arrived in-game. While we did say a lot of the things that would happen to non-humans upon arrival to accommodate their presence in the game (such as the unique dietary requirements, shrinking if your character's really tall, body is otherwise killable like a human's, etc.) we didn't actually say it outright - rather we said everything else that would go along with that. This has been fixed!

Again, thank you all, and if there's anything else you have questions on, keep bringing them to us and we will do our best to answer and clarify! And of course, we'll see you all on Sunday for the game's start!

Quick FAQ Clarifications, CRAU Question and Reserve Opening Time Announcement

A few things which came up in the FAQ and elsewhere, which, as the clock winds down to reserves opening, would be a good thing to clarify!

-Someone pointed out that we had messed up a bit on the numbers for the game's minimum age. So we're making it clear that the maturity clause means that our hard minimum age is 13, not 12! We have updated the FAQ to reflect this fixed mistake.

-Someone asked about Airlocked CRAUs being accepted into the game. After some discussion, we've decided that at the present, because of the nature of Airlocked, we will not be taking CRAUs from Airlocked until after their round 4 at the very earliest, if not until after the game had properly wrapped up. So we won't be accepting them this round. Depending on how long Airlocked goes on, this may also apply to the next iteration of 15 Strangers, but we will keep you informed about this as we decide on when a second round will be.

-Finally, reserves open tomorrow at noon, EST! We hope to see you there!

Until tomorrow!

MODERATOR UPDATE

We are posting to announce that 15 Strangers now has three moderators!

I'd like to first thank everyone who responded to the search for co-moderators. Several individuals responded, and its wonderful that you guys are out there and you want to help make this work. We - no longer I - will work our butts off to make this the best murdergame on Dreamwidth.

So, with that in mind, say hello to Lita and Mandy! The FAQ has been updated with their contact information, so feel to get to know all three of us before reserves open on May 7th and the game begins!

And, of course, we'll see you all on May 15th.

MOD ANNOUNCEMENT ABOUT GAME CHANGES

First, I want to thank everyone whose given me feed back and help on improving the game. Seriously, all of you guys are amazing. As this is my first murdergame modding experience, there're things I had overlooked, or hadn't taken into consideration, when developing the game. Hopefully, from here on out, things will be a lot different come the main round.

And that starts right now.

CHANGES FOR THE MAIN ROUND )

MOCK TRIAL POST-MORTEM

Hello, everyone.

Welcome to the first game that has ever bad-ended. In a mock trial, no less.

15 STRANGERS TEST DRIVE

There are 15 strangers in this place. Someone knows why. And its clear the odds are stacked against you.

1. ARRIVAL
You're here, in what can only be described as a primitive bunker. Where are are you? What happened to your powers? Your memories? And who else has been so unlucky as to be brought in with you? And why are the rules so...authoritarian?

2. POWER
You have been, er, "blessed" with a power. Its not a power you want or care for, but its yours now. You might want to try an control it, lest you hurt someone else. That is...unless you want to. Just don't blow up any public property while you're at it.

3. HOME
Nothing says trapped like being in an underground stone prison. But you're here now. Here with no technology or modern convenience of any kind. How in the world will you fare? Aside from just drinking all the time. That's probably what all the booze in the kitchen is for, after all.

4. ULTIMATUM
The Intercessor has announced the motive for the week. Clearly someone has it out for you to kill. How will you react? Will you stand against such an insult and help others to fight the temptation? Or perhaps, you yourself are tempted...?

5. DEATH
One of your own has died - been killed. The Inquisition has started. The body lies before you, and now you must discern the truth from the clues before you. But can you when you mourn? Or, perhaps you don't mourn the dead. Perhaps you're only playing along because you know more than you let on.

6. TRIAL
The Intercessor did warn you that killing is little more than a violent cycle in this game. Now you're here, looking to condemn the responsible killer. If you do, they die. If you don't, you die. Whatever happens, you have to figure out what will happen. And what did happen. But can you?

7. WILDCARD
Perhaps you want to do something else other than the above. A different prompt entirely. Perhaps, then, you will.
