15 STRANGERS ROUND 7 TEST DRIVE
TEST DRIVE  1. ARRIVAL It's time to wake up in your berth on this not-so-fantastic voyage. Why are you here? What happened to your powers? Memories? Who are these other people that've also been abducted? And...what is that smell?... 2. POWER It turns out you have been...'gifted' a power. It's not something you asked for, but you've got it now. It might be best to figure out how they work. Or don't. It's up to you. From chaos comes order, after all! 3. HOME Well, may as well make yourself comfortable for the foreseeable future on this ship. It's not like Zero is letting you go anywhere they don't want you to go. But perhaps you can find something that can help you get out of this situation! Or...maybe you want to give up and just drink in the lounge. That's an option too! Either way, you and your fellow Strangers won't be bored, at least? 4. MINIGAME Apparently Zero has decided you're not entertaining enough on your own, so now you're being tasked with playing in this game. And why not? You're technically on a cruise ship, so why not have some games? You could put some effort into the game, or maybe you're just done with this [BLEEP] by now-it's your choice on what to do. 5. MOTIVE You knew this was coming. Zero has decided they've waited long enough to see some bloodshed, and have released a motive to incentivize you into killing someone else. How are you feeling about it? What motive has Zero come up with? And...are you thinking about doing it...? 6. DEATH It's happened. One of your number has passed on-killed by another Stranger left in your group. There they lay, clear as day. It's officially time to investigate. How will you do so? Look over the body? Look around the room for evidence? Find a room that you believe is suspicious and search there? Or maybe you aren't up for investigating and would rather mourn your loss or pass out. It's up to you. 7. TRIAL It's time to focus-either you solve this case, condemning someone to death for the murder they committed, or you vote incorrectly, executing an innocent person. You've got a limited time to figure out what happened, and if you get it wrong, everyone dies. Take a deep breath, look at the evidence, and do your best to nail down the guilty party before its too late! 8. GUILTY ...Oh. It turns out you were the one responsible for what happened-you are the murderer! Why did you do it? Was it the motive? Was it something else? Are you sorry? Or was everything that has happened between you and the survivors a means to an end? Now is the time to confess everything-you're not likely to get another chance before you're executed! 9. WILDCARD Have an idea that wasn't mentioned above? Do it! Go crazy! |

This one woulda gotten 'em without all the others. Someone got pissed, started stabbing...and didn't stop. For a while.
[If only Maki Roll were here. She could've given exacts.]

Is...are there any signs they fought back? Like-blood under the fingernails or bruises or something?
[She's seen an episode of Forensic Files or two. Mainly because of her mom, but she saw some parts. Those are things people do when they fight for their life, aren't they?]

[He hates this. He hates this so much, having to look over someone's body to find evidence, having to be analytical about this, the idea that anyone did this at all is sickening to his very core.]
There's definitely bruises. Could just be brutal treatment on the culprit's part as opposed to them fighting back, though. The fingernails...
[He takes the arm out--why is it under--oh god. He scrambles back, hitting the floor.]
Oh god where's the fucking hand.

[And then she sees the stump and oh cheese and crackers it is A LOT OF EFFORT not to start vomiting then and there, instead just gagging as she takes a couple quick steps back.]

O...okay. So. We, um. We literally do not fucking know part of it. Cool. Cool. Great, great, cool. [He's sweating a little. He shakes his head violently, swearing under his breath.]
We can't really leave the scene here...not unless a third person shows up, maybe, but...maybe we should take a minute, breathe this one out.

[The second explicative comes out more like a squeak, and the steps back continue, until her back is up against the wall again, this time just sliding down until she's sitting on the floor.]

[It's obviously not his fault, but what else is he supposed to say? This is so normalized to him by now that it makes him feel, somehow, even worse. It'd be one thing if they both were at the same level of unease, but...they're not.
And it sucks.
The minute another person walks in, he heaves a sigh of relief.]

It's one thing to find a skeleton you know is real, but from decades before you were born. No flesh. No blood. The only indicator for how they died a piece of their spine being out of place.
This? Stab wounds that weren't needed? A hand cut off, taken who knows where? It felt like something else entirely.
She shifts slightly at the apology to look at Kaito.]
...'s alright.
[Don't mind her as she tries to ignore the sound of the announcement going off, wishing she woke up from a nightmare already.]
So, we're supposed to have a trial now?

[Kaito looks down. He rubs his forehead, then slowly shakes his head.]
There's gonna be a trial. We go over all the evidence. Everyone gives their theories. We start pointing fingers, and we find out who did it. Then...
[Then they die. Or they don't find out who did it, and everyone dies. It's one or the other.]
...We keep going.
[That's the most optimistic way he can put things. They keep going. They keep fighting for their lives. Even if it's cruel and cold, they keep going.]

And I thought Emily was the worst thing I'd ever have to deal with...
[Another sigh before going to a more audible volume.]
Any idea how this is all going to end?

Never lived to see the end of one of these.
[He admits, not looking her in the eyes. He knows that he's showing his hand in regards to fully knowing how these play out - even moreso with that statement - but he was never one for secrets and lies anyway. That was...someone else's game.]
But, uh, if I had to hope for anything, eventually we find out who is running the show, and we take 'em to task. They're hiding, anyway. That means deep down, they're probably pretty weak.

She stares for a moment, before letting out another sigh.]
Well. Let's hope you get your wish, and that you're right about them being weak. Otherwise this is gonna suck even more than it already does.
[She's never really been the optimist. But better to not rain on his parade too much, right?]

[He smiles sincerely. Some things never change, and Kaito carrying on the hopes of others is one of them.]

Gotta admit though, that was really cheesy.
[Is she turning to joking around to relieve some of the tension that comes with finding a corpse? Maybe, but hey, everyone has their coping mechanisms. There's much worse out there.]
