HMD

HMD

Hey everyone! It's time for HMD! We want to thank you for making this an amazing round. Seriously, I had a lot of fun, personally (I being...well, Ni. Hello everyone!) and I truly hope you guys had a great time as well. As always, what makes these rounds so amazing is you, the players, and players both old and new truly made this round a memorable experience.

However, there's always room for improvement, and of course, this round was not perfect on our end, no matter how much work we put in - we know it wasn't and isn't. Nevertheless, we always strive to do our best to do better and be better as time goes by and as each round is completed, we want to know how well of a job we've done to try and meet those expectations. And so, we leave it to you to let us know how we're doing.

Anon will be allowed. Have fun y'all, and we will hopefully see you...come Round 8!

SHIFT Meme

SHIFT MEME

WELCOME! There's been a lot of SHIFTing in this round, hasn't there? What if you were SHIFTed into another round, or another version of this round, or even one of the rounds in R7's backstory? Or....maybe somewhere else entirely??

Look no further than here! So sit back, tap into the morphogenetic field, and come on down! Your characters are the next contestants on...on wherever they end up! Oh boy!

1. The Ship of Blood
Well, this one is familiar at least! But...who are all these people with you? Is that one of the Spardas? Wait-who's that guy with the fedora? You mean there are timelines where there are more rounds!? BOOOOOOOO!

2. The Home of Happiness and Horror
Oh great, you're in Denton, Aka a soundstage where you are forced to kill one another in front of a live worldwide audience. Oh, and said audience gets a vote in who dies. Oh, and in some timelines, you randomly start singing! Or...wear full body costumes. It's weird.

3. ???
The Meme is ever-present. The Meme will not be contained. The multiversal clusters are vast and infinite. Perhaps you SHIFT into a previous game. Perhaps you SHIFT into a game as yet known. Or perhaps it is happening right now. Who knows, now...and what fate awaits you...?

ENDGAME ANNOUNCEMENT AND ACTIVITY

Yup! It's time for endgame! Holy crap. We are here.

The Final Week has already been put up, while the Final Investigation will be put up on Thursday! Like with normal Investigations, it will close on Friday at midnight EST, or earlier if all the clues have been found beforehand, with the Final Trial going up, at the earliest, this Friday at 12 PM EST and at the latest, this Saturday at 2PM EST!

To make things a little bit easier, we will be splitting characters into two groups:

1+2
Akane Kuroshiki
Hubert von Vestra
Gai Tsutsugami

3+4
Alastor
Hermes
Roland Fortis

5+6
Yoshikage Kira
Makima
Ritsu Onozu

Team 1+2 will be investigating Areas 1 and 2, while Team 3+4 will be investigating Areas 3 and 4, and Team 5+6 will be investigating Areas 5 and 6.

However, in order for players to have a chance to get the best possible ending, all living characters must participate in BOTH the Investigation and Trial, and certain character actions will matter in determining the ending you get. Currently, characters are capable of getting Golden End, a good ending, a neutral ending, and a bad ending.

Players may continue to thread investigations from Weeks 1-5 and uncover any clues or items they may have not found yet and trade in relevant threads in the Gimme post until Thursday, when the Final Investigation is posted!

All players with characters still living must also respond to this post so we know they have read this post!

We are also adding Activity Check here, which, for all players, is a check-in!

Thank you and we'll see you in the Final Week post!

Round 7 OoC Intros!

ROUND 7 OoC INTROS!

HEY EVERYONE! Welcome, new and old, old and young, to Round 7 of 15 Strangers! Feel free to pop in and introduce yourselves before the week begins! Have fun, don't insult the funyarinpa, watch out for the snails, and we'll see you on Sunday, June 11th!

15 STRANGERS ROUND 7 TEST DRIVE

15 STRANGERS ROUND 7
TEST DRIVE

There are 15 strangers (give or take a few, this time around) on the ship. Regardless, someone wants you all dead. Why? And what is a funyarinpa?...

1. ARRIVAL
It's time to wake up in your berth on this not-so-fantastic voyage. Why are you here? What happened to your powers? Memories? Who are these other people that've also been abducted? And...what is that smell?...

2. POWER
It turns out you have been...'gifted' a power. It's not something you asked for, but you've got it now. It might be best to figure out how they work. Or don't. It's up to you. From chaos comes order, after all!

3. HOME
Well, may as well make yourself comfortable for the foreseeable future on this ship. It's not like Zero is letting you go anywhere they don't want you to go. But perhaps you can find something that can help you get out of this situation! Or...maybe you want to give up and just drink in the lounge. That's an option too! Either way, you and your fellow Strangers won't be bored, at least?

4. MINIGAME
Apparently Zero has decided you're not entertaining enough on your own, so now you're being tasked with playing in this game. And why not? You're technically on a cruise ship, so why not have some games? You could put some effort into the game, or maybe you're just done with this [BLEEP] by now-it's your choice on what to do.

5. MOTIVE
You knew this was coming. Zero has decided they've waited long enough to see some bloodshed, and have released a motive to incentivize you into killing someone else. How are you feeling about it? What motive has Zero come up with? And...are you thinking about doing it...?

6. DEATH
It's happened. One of your number has passed on-killed by another Stranger left in your group. There they lay, clear as day. It's officially time to investigate. How will you do so? Look over the body? Look around the room for evidence? Find a room that you believe is suspicious and search there? Or maybe you aren't up for investigating and would rather mourn your loss or pass out. It's up to you.

7. TRIAL
It's time to focus-either you solve this case, condemning someone to death for the murder they committed, or you vote incorrectly, executing an innocent person. You've got a limited time to figure out what happened, and if you get it wrong, everyone dies. Take a deep breath, look at the evidence, and do your best to nail down the guilty party before its too late!

8. GUILTY
...Oh. It turns out you were the one responsible for what happened-you are the murderer! Why did you do it? Was it the motive? Was it something else? Are you sorry? Or was everything that has happened between you and the survivors a means to an end? Now is the time to confess everything-you're not likely to get another chance before you're executed!

9. WILDCARD
Have an idea that wasn't mentioned above? Do it! Go crazy!

Mod Search!

MOD SEARCH!

Hey guys!

So due to a lot of IRL stuff going on, we got together and realized that we might need some extra help with Round 7. So-we're looking for another mod! Currently, while we were aiming initially for a fall round, we have no firm date as of yet. However, having an extra mod will help us to expedite the process and give us a better idea of when we can run what we're planning!

We're looking for someone who is able and willing to help with finishing up in building Round 7, such as with the game posts, the game mechanics, and items and clues lists. They would also be helping out during the round, including playing NPCs, overseeing mod posts both in IC and OoC, looking over applications, doing investigations with us, and keeping tabs on daily happenings in both the game and in Discord chat!

If you're interested, just fill out the form below!

15 Strangers Round AU Meme

15 STRANGERS ROUND AU MEME

Hello everyone! Not exactly that time again, but we’ve got a treat for you today! The Round AU Meme! Essentially, remember those times where you asked ‘What if I’d brought Person X to Round Y?’ Well, here’s where you can answer that question, with prompts for each round and Mock Weeks 2 and 3. We hope you’ll enjoy!

1. Ungodly Magics & Mysteries
You know your day is going to be awful when you wake up on a stone slab instead of a bed. Worse still, it looks like nothing here is past medieval times, in terms of style and tech. Maybe a potion or a sweet roll will get your mind off of this murder business added to the mix.

2. Mall Murder Mania
You’ve probably never been passed out in a mall, and even if you did, it’s very unlikely you’d been trapped inside afterwards, told by a young girl to kill to leave. Maybe the fifteen of you can figure out what’s going on in this seemingly abandoned mall.

3. A Fantastic Voyage
The technology here is so…odd. The entire place just seems off, no matter when you’re from. Then there’s that loud, obnoxious woman telling everyone to kill each other. With how grating her voice is, maybe you should prepare for someone killing to get away from her.

4. Snakes In Plane Sight
Is this a joke? On a plane, headed who knows where, with who knows how many snakes on board, and more dead bodies than you needed to see in your lifetime. And your pilot wants you to add to their number. You might need magic if you want everyone here to survive.

5. Soul-Sapping Situations
This mansion is awful. Rooms like caskets, dust and spiders everywhere, the fact that you were brought unwillingly-and the rules about murder didn’t help things. The entire situation is a disaster, and you can only hope that you and the others don’t lose your minds.

6. Off The Rails
A chance to explore the deepest recesses of space, the final frontier…and instead, you’re on a train with fourteen others being made to kill each other. No one among the locals cares when you ask for help. Such a hopeless situation, you may as well gaze at the beautiful sun above.

7. Home Sweet Homicide
You and fourteen others in a house in space, trapped by an evil A.I. It wants you to kill each other, but when there’s so little room? Seems impossible, if you don’t want to get caught. Let’s hope no one proves that thought wrong…

8. The American Nightmare
A town with no people, other than your fellow captives. This isn’t the first time that this has happened to you, and the same goes for everyone else. And yet, you hesitate to trust the others…probably reasonable. You all know how this goes, after all.

HOW'S MY DRIVING

HMD

Hey there, everyone! It's time for an HMD! The last HMD of 15 Strangers...current overarching story arc. And man has it been a ride. And it's a ride we've been proud to go on alongside you guys as R6 ended with a Golden End!

We've said it before and we will keep saying it, but what makes this game as successful as it is, is you, the players. You guys are our lifeblood, our literal and metaphorical heart. You guys are what help to drive the story, the characters, and ultimately the future of the game. And, we always try and implement what you guys suggest when HMD comes up after every round, though it's not always fully successful or consistently implemented (Hey there, links to weekday menus! Where'd you go after Round 3? Did someone forget you? :/ ). But your critiques and suggestions are always welcome, and the end of this round is no different. Even if this is the end of Camazotz's reign of Tabooty terror, it's not the end of the game.

Looking back, we can say there's been good, there's been bad, and there's been Round 4. And one other thing we as the mods all agreed upon as Rounds 6 came to pass was our own little critique of ourselves. Namely, that the mod team definitely needs to take a break. 15 Strangers has been a labor of love for a little over three years, and it's been one that everyone has been working hard to try and make as excellent as possible, no matter if a mod joined the team in R1 or R5, no matter what's been thrown our way.

So does this mean this is the last round of 15 Strangers in the end? No. (In the end? Nothing ends, Adrian. Nothing ever ends.) In fact, we're planning on continuing the game, and R7's story was decided some time ago. In fact, this particular round has been in the works for...well, some time actually. And you're probably all going to scream once you see it, when it is finally announced.

The overarching plot will also still be present, with callbacks here and there-after all, as as a certain brain said, the Meme is ever-present and cannot be contained. But future rounds won't be as Extra-Strength Plot Concentrate as it has been and will be more self-contained. At least, that is the hope!

In the meantime, though, we're taking a murdergame mod vacation. We'll still be here, as will backtagging, the 15 Strangers Round AU meme that we will be putting up in the near future, and probably a tiny bit of incessant R7 teasing over the coming months. Possibly even a Mock Week 4, hmm? But this spring and summer at the very least, we're going to take a rest and come back recharged and ready to go.

And with that...thank you. Thank you so much, all of you, and we'll see you again some time in autumn, 2020!

Time to Ride Off Into The Sunset

Hey there, Strangers.

It’s been three years since the game has opened and I still can’t believe we made it to six rounds and aiming for more in the future. Normally it would be Ni writing this blurb but it only felt right that I do this instead. So to cut to the chase, as of this round, I am stepping down from my position of mod.

I remember when I first signed on before the first round and sweet baby Seven it was crazy. There’s been many things I have seen in this game from the playerbase and from my fellow mods and all I can say is what a joyful ride it has been. While no one is stealing my pancreas (nice try Kay), it’s because my life is going to get a bit hectic from here on in and I would not be able to do my modly duties to the full extent of what is needed. But seriously, I enjoyed every bit of this position and all the jokes shared in Mod Chat and all the fun from the players...you all made this worthwhile. I’m forever grateful to have helped players have fun here and I hope you continue to do so in the future. I’ll still be that lurker in the discord and who knows, I may even try my hand at bringing a character to a round. So while I may not be a mod anymore, you guys haven’t seen the last of me.

But seriously, to my fellow mods and the players at large: thank you for making modding this game fun and worth it.

-Lita

MOCK WEEK 3 HMD AND R6 ANNOUNCEMENT

HMD: MOCK WEEK 3

Guess what? It's time for another HMD!

We are absolutely glad with how this third Mock Week turned out. And you know who is responsible for it? You! That's right, you, the players. Without you, this game would not be what it is, mock weeks included! And that includes all of the feedback you can give to us as to what we've done good, and what we can do better!

We also would like to me an announcement about Round 6's date of beginning. After taking consideration varying factors, such as our own schedules and the existence of other games with definitive dates, we've decided that Round 6's reserves will open on Saturday, January 18th, 2020, and the round itself will open on Sunday, January 26th, 2020. Information pages will be revealed in early January for those interested in joining us for our All-Star Game - a game which Mock Week 3 characters can also participate in alongside characters from the previous five rounds and Mock Week 2!

And with that, have a happy holiday, an excellent New Year, never stop backtagging, and remember:

The end of your journeys thus far shall approach.
