Round 2 Test Drive Meme

TEST DRIVE 1. ARRIVAL You're here, in the Mall. Wherever the Mall might be, right? And what happened to your powers? Your memories? Who else has been so unlucky as to be brought in with you? Also, why are the rules littered with emojis!? 2. POWER You have been, er, "blessed" with a power. Its not a power you want or care for, but its yours now. You might want to try an control it, lest you hurt someone else. That is...unless you want to. Just don't blow up any public property while you're at it! 3. HOME So now you live in a mall! All right! Modern conveniences galore! And hey, there's a cat cafe and a bar! Maybe living here forever won't be so bad. Unless you're looking for a way out, but surely, you wouldn't do that, right? 4. MINIGAME The Life Coach has decided to do 'games'. Those who win the games will get prizes, the Life Coach has promised. The Test Drive Meme's minigame: a costume contest! The best costume made in five hours wins! Work alone, or in teams - the Life Coach is ok with either~! 5. MOTIVE The Life Coach has announced the motive for the week. Clearly someone really wants to give you a reason to kill someone. How will you react? Will you stand against such an insult and help others to fight the temptation? Or perhaps, you yourself are tempted...? 6. DEATH One of your own has died - no, been killed. The Inquisition has started. The body lies before you, and now you must discern the truth from the clues before you. But can you when you mourn? Or, perhaps you don't mourn the dead. Perhaps you're only playing along because you know more than you let on. 7. TRIAL Well, it looks like the Life Coach wasn't kidding when they said there would be a trial. So now you're here, looking to condemn the responsible killer. If you do, they die. If you don't, you die. Whatever happens, you have to figure out what happened. Can you? 8. WILDCARD Anything not mentioned above. Go wild! |

Mira | Zero Time Dilemma
[Mira sits on a stool of the barcade, making a bewildered face as she reads the rules. An average person like her would be shocked by the prospect of murder in them, so that's hardly unusual, although right now her polished fingers are poking absently at the kaomoji in the rules.]
What are some of these even supposed to be....?
[Though honestly she's frustrated that they exist here at all.]
[Power]
[You are minding your own business in the ghost town of the mall, with seemingly no one around in sight, when suddenly:]
Hey! [MIRA IS DIRECTLY BEHIND YOU, WHERE THE HELL DID SHE COME FROM. The answer is basically wherever she wanted to, because her power is flash stepping. Still, it's kind of creepy having someone sneak up on you in a murder game... especially someone calm and collected who doesn't seem like they should be able to move that fast.]
[Death]
[In the worst scavenger hunt ever, someone has been dismembered with their body parts hidden all over the mall, and everyone's looking to find them - so of course Mira is helping! And wrapping up a severed limb to put in a cooler she grabbed from the department store. You can find her doing that, or if you are already in on the search, you may receive this text.]
Found the arm in Foofylicious. Did anyone figure out who it is yet?
Death [TW: DISMEMBERMENT, BURNS, EMETOPHOBIA]
Found the head.
[Another pause.]
It was in a fryer in Wok This Way.
It's female.
[There's a few people who it could be, but 1. it's really badly burnt, and 2. his own face is a bit too busy having a date with the nearest trash can to narrow anything down.
Just. give him a moment.]
no subject
Wow. Burning a woman's face off? That's as heartless as it gets.
Well, if that's all you can tell about it. Can you at least get it out of the fryer
no subject
Yeah, got it pretty much out. Hair is still somewhat intact - blonde.
no subject
It's something I guess... I'm afraid the body discovery announcement might not go off until we find all of it. worst case scenario we just have to track down all the blondes and see who's missing.
Anyway, the hand didn't have any particular features, though it was clenched in a fist. Think I should pry it open?
no subject
[Bla bla bla wear gloves bla bla bla evidence. By this time, it has, sadly, been something he's had to remind people repeatedly. Mira, at least, has been consistent with similar precautions as well, something he appreciates.]
I'll keep looking in the other restaurants for more parts. I'm putting the head somewhere safe for the moment while I do that.
[The fact he had to say any of that made him feel sick again. This wasn't just murder - this was beyond heartless. Almost like the killer wanted to erase their victim in a way that couldn't be recovered.]
no subject
That's a good idea. Why don't we meet up then? Get the jigsaw puzzle started in the same spot. And you can watch me do this too, in case something does happen. Like the killer sneaking up to prevent it being seen.....

Why don't we just pick a staircase, it's not like we can use them anyway with those barriers in place. And that way no one will come along who doesn't need to see this kind of thing.
no subject
So staircase by the clothing stores?

Power
[ Ursula jumps nearly a full foot into the air, dropping the stack of weird ingredients she'd been carrying in her hands aaaaall over the floor. ]
A-ah... o-oh. I-it's just you... s-sorry. You were so quiet... I could have sworn I was alone...
no subject
But actually, she dropped some things, didn't she. They look weird though, so Mira can take that as an excuse not to touch them.]
I guess I startled you pretty badly. What is all this stuff?
no subject
[ ... She stares a little bit at that first answer, but then snaps out of it and shakes her head. ]
Ingredients for a repair potion... well, I hope. I'm having to improvise a little bit. ... Okay, I'm having to improvise a-a lot... you really probably shouldn't use cilantro instead of magically-grown flowers, but...
no subject
[Unlike a certain someone from R1, Mira has not been to potions class. Alas. She will focus on the sanest part of this explanation.]
What are you trying to repair?
no subject
Oh... r-right, of course. I keep forgetting some of you don't practice magic! It's not so much that I've broken anything at least I hope not, not yet so much as I'd like to be prepared in the offhand event that something does happen.
Imagine if something in one of the restaurants broke down, for example. It would be quite difficult for us to repair it on our own.
... As long as I don't use this on someone that happens to, um... die. Of course. That could have incredibly disastrous consequences.
welcome... to die.
Not... touching it. Don't want to wipe off whodunnit's prints off and I know jack about figuring out how this was done. Nobody touch nothin'.
no subject
Besides, we don't exactly have the tools for fingerprinting here. Especially from human skin. It's just not something you usually find in a mall... they wouldn't make it that easy on us.
no subject
Put it this way. I have no idea how else we can fuck up a murder scene and I'd rather not find out the hard way. Not with these stakes.
no subject
[She doesn't think she has to explain how leaving it there is just as risky as leaving it alone.]
But okay. What is your idea, exactly?
